Me and My Leader

My Leader and Me

In public life, leadership is tested not in periods of comfort, but in moments of crisis. It is in difficult times that relationships are defined, convictions are strengthened, and the true meaning of commitment becomes clear. My political journey is closely connected with the leadership of Shri Chirag Paswan ji, the National President of Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas), who is not only my leader in public life but also someone with whom I share a deep personal bond.

After the passing of Late Shri Ram Vilas Paswan ji in 2020, the party went through one of the most challenging phases in its history. Ram Vilas Paswan ji had built the organisation over decades through hard work, struggle, and an unwavering commitment to social justice and the dignity of the poor. His absence created a vacuum that was felt not only within the party but also among workers and supporters across the country.

In the period that followed, internal differences led to a split in the Lok Janshakti Party, and the organisation that had been built over many years suddenly stood divided. It was a time of uncertainty, confusion, and emotional strain for thousands of workers who had remained loyal to the ideals of the party. In that difficult moment, Shri Chirag Paswan ji chose to stand firm with the legacy of his father and the principles on which the party had been founded. The decision was not easy. It meant facing political isolation, organisational challenges, and opposition from within the extended political family itself. For many of us who were close to the family, this period was not only politically difficult but personally painful as well.

My association with Chirag Paswan ji is both personal and political. After becoming part of the family, I had seen closely the amount of dedication, sacrifice, and struggle that had gone into building the party. When the organisation faced its most difficult phase, I felt it was my responsibility to stand with my leader and contribute in whatever way I could towards rebuilding the party. My entry into active politics in 2021 came during this very phase, not out of personal ambition, but out of a sense of duty towards the organisation and towards the leadership that was determined to rebuild it from the ground up.

The period after the split required not speeches, but work. It required travelling to districts, meeting workers who felt uncertain about the future, and restoring confidence among people who had stood with the party for years. During this time, I became actively involved in organisational coordination, working closely with Chirag Paswan ji and party workers across Bihar and other states. The objective was clear - to rebuild the organisation step by step, to reconnect with the grassroots, and to show that the party still had the strength and the will to move forward.

One of the most significant efforts during this phase was the Nav-Sankalp Mahasabha, a statewide outreach and organisational mobilisation programme across Bihar. The idea behind this programme was simple but challenging - to go back to the people, to meet workers face to face, and to rebuild the organisation from the ground level rather than from the top. The Nav-Sankalp Mahasabha involved travelling across the state, holding large public meetings, interacting with workers at booth, block, district, and state levels, and listening directly to the concerns of supporters who had remained loyal during the difficult period.

Organising the Nav-Sankalp Mahasabha required continuous travel, coordination, and planning. District after district, meeting after meeting, we worked to restore the confidence of the organisation. These were not easy programmes to conduct, because the party was rebuilding itself after a split and every step required effort, patience, and determination. For me personally, this phase was one of the most intense and meaningful experiences in public life. It was a time when I felt that standing with my leader meant standing with the workers who had kept faith in the party even in its weakest moment.

The Nav-Sankalp Mahasabha became more than a political campaign. It became a symbol of the party’s resolve to rise again. The unity and confidence that came from this organisational effort played an important role in strengthening the party’s position in the years that followed. It helped rebuild the structure of the organisation, brought workers back together, and prepared the party to move forward with renewed strength.

For me, this journey reinforced a simple belief - that leadership is not proven in success alone, but in the ability to stand firm in adversity. My relationship with Chirag Paswan ji is based on trust, respect, and a shared commitment to the ideals on which the party was built. I consider it my duty to continue working with the same dedication, to support my leader in strengthening the organisation, and to remain connected to the workers and people who give meaning to public life.

The experiences of those difficult years, the effort of rebuilding the party, and the journey of the Nav-Sankalp Mahasabha remain among the defining chapters of my political life, and they continue to guide the way I look at responsibility, leadership, and public service.
